Repairing the power windows on your car does add a small layer of difficulty due to a couple factors.  First, they are electronic and hooked up to a motor with many different components such as the switch, the motor itself, and the regulator.  So if the window is not working it could be a couple things that are causing the malfunction.  Secondly, the window is housed inside the door, which means you have to remove a few panels to access it.  In this process, you also have to maneuver around the door speakers, the door handle function, and any airbags that the door might have in it.  These factor can often cause delays in the repair or replacement of your car power window.

Regardless of the make or model of your car, we can complete your power window repair or replacement quickly and affordably.  All of our technicians are trained on the highest quality craftsmanship and we use only the highest quality windshield material.  We take great pride in being able to provide you with only the top notch professionalism and quality in all our jobs.

How to know if your windshield can be repaired or needs to be replaced:

  • If the crack in the windshield runs less than 13 inches or the chip is smaller than 3 inches in diameter.
  • If the chip or crack has not penetrated into the inner layer of the glass. As long as you can not feel it from the interior of the car, the windshield could possibly be repaired instead of replaced.
  • If the chip or crack is more than 6 inches from the edge of the windshield.

What to expect when replacing your cars power window:

  • First, identity which component of the power window is malfunctioning.  It could be the switch, the motor, the regulator, or the window being off track.
  • If the switch, motor, or regulator are malfunctioning the fix can be as easy as replacing a small assembly.
  • Secondly, to repair or replace the window, you first need to remove the door panel by removing the multiple screws located around the door.  Once the screws are removed, the panel is being held on by plastic clips.  You can pop off the panel with a flathead screwdriver.  It's important to be gentle to not break the plastic clips.
  • Once the panel is removed you should be able to see the window regulator that moves the window up and down.  Remove the bolts from the clamps on the regulator to remove any excess glass.  Then leave the bolts open so we can slide the new glass in.
  • Once your regulator is prepared to receive the new auto glass, you slide the new window down into the door from the top opening.  Place the new glass in the regulator clamps and tighten the bolts back.  Be sure not to over tighten the bolts and risk breaking the glass.
  • Once the new window is in the regulator and on the tracks, you can begin reassembling the door panel.  Once the door panel is back on, you are all finished.
